June 19: Homecoming Sunday: Remembering deceased members of Shelter Island Heights. Author Carrie Cooperider will speak about the 150th anniversary book, “All Are Welcome: 150 Years of Shelter Island’s Union Chapel in the Grove, 1872-2022, chronicling the history of Union Chapel, with beautiful historic photos. Music will be performed by Basically Baroque. Books will be available for purchase after the service, which Carrie will sign for you. A reception will follow the outdoor service. Read about it here.

June 26: Children’s Service featuring Storyteller and banjo player Bill Gordh. “We Can Be The Light” is an interactive service with proverbs, folktales, Scripture readings and poems, read by children and featuring a special song written and sung by Bill Gordh especially for this service. July 3: Historical Society Sunday: President John D’Amato will speak about the history of organizations and churches on the Island for the past 100 years as the Historical Society celebrates its 100th anniversary. Read about it here.

July 10: Shelter Island Yacht Club Sunday: Celebrating the Yacht Club and remembering deceased members. Fr. Charles McCarron of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church will preach about “Justifying Ourselves” Yacht Club member Nelson Bogart will play trumpet. Read about it here.

July 17: Camp Quinipet Sunday: Elizabeth Abel (Conference Board President of Camps and Retreat) preaches, “Be Salt and Light.” Quinipet staffers will read the prayers. Music performed by the Cottage Trio. Read about it here.

July 24: Shelter Island Volunteer Sunday: Celebrating the Shelter Island Fire Department, with Fr. Peter DeSanctis of Our Lady of the Isle Roman Catholic Church. Baritone Thomas Milton will sing. Read about it here.

July 31: Choir Sunday: featuring an Island Choir under the direction of Music Director Linda Betjeman, performing at this service only. Everyone is invited to participate! August 7: Garden Club of Shelter Island Sunday: Honoring the Garden Club and remembering deceased members. Reverend Jill Vogt of the Moravian Church of Germany will preach. Daniel Gladstone plays violin. Read about it here.

August 14: Tom Getman, humanitarian and well-known expert on the worldwide refugee crisis, will speak. Jean Hendrickson plays flute. Read about it here.

August 21: Rabbi Dan Geffen of Temple Adas Israel will preach. Guest musicians are Trustee Chris Herman, cello, and Jed Feldman, flute. Read about it here.

August 28: Harvest Sunday: Celebrating Sylvester Manor. Reverend Galen Guengerich of All Souls Unitarian Church, NYC, will preach. Colin Van Tuyl will play trumpet. September 4: Poetry Sunday featuring the work of Irish poet John O’Donohue. Guest musicians are Heather Reylek and Island Folk, including Penny and John Kerr and Wendy Clark. This will be our final service of the Summer 2022 season. If weather permits, this service will be outdoors. Please bring a chair. A reception, catered by STARS Cafe will follow the service.
